Had a hell of a day yesterday. The short version goes like this.

I thought I might partition this Freedom drive. Soooo I was looking at my partitioning tools when a Seagate Disk that I was checking for Options . . .

OH SHIT!

 RESTART!

It’s saving my settings!

SHIT!

It’s closing windows!

I COULDN’T STOP IT!!!

I was livid. The damned “sold before ready” programs and  “because we know what’s best for you” windows

SHUT ME OUT.

It would boot the BIOS but no matter what boot sequence, drive, WHATEVER, no floppy, no resource disk, no OS install CD, no live CD, NO NOTHING would boot up

until . . .

I tried my gNewSense Live CD.

BAM! I was in! I hit on install and it did,  fast, cool, not a bother, then,  the grub loader saw the other OS and on the restart I was able to choose from the grub boot menu, to boot to my XP drive. When I was done cleaning up the system, I used my most recent ASR Backup and even got my system theme back.

Thanks FSF and all those that contribute to OPEN SOURCE.

I want to boot the gNews’  and see if I can learn to use it as my main OS.
