My first voicemail
July 17, 2008
I had BOL #765 in my headphones early Tuesday when I thought I heard, during Tom Merrick’s opening, the sounds of freedom and heartfelt sensibility in reference to the latest Apple virus bloom.
I was about to email my congratulations to Tom for saying he heard enough “i yi yi” when as it happens, the listener comments also caught my attention.
Jason and Tom giving the example of an early morning call -in as justification for paying homage to the iThing out of proportion to its significance contradicted all logic. I mean, what can you expect with a live call- in during an iStorm?
So I drafted an email to encourage Jason and Tom. By the time I got the corrections back I decided to leave it as a voice mail. I thought it might be more effective.
I thought of Leo Laporte THE TECH GUY King . He overdoes the iPhone events better than anyone. I rarely see eye to eye (npi) with the King on issues, but I can’t help but admire his versatility. I busted my gums on his Tech TV and he still has the answers, or a damned good place to start anyway. But you know one symptom of the Apple virus is that you don’t know when you have it and Leo is practically the Pied Piper of Apple. Oh well, doesn’t make him bad. He covers it all.
Will have more for you later.
Take care & be well,
Country Fried Fred
